October Blog: Upcoming Gigs & Autumnal Greetings

Sh’wmae Ffrind!
I love October. Time for autumnal walks, enjoying the fruits of the harvest – we had an abundance of apples, pears and plums from our garden trees this year. We’ve made blackberry and apple crumble (favourite) and home-made soups! I hope you, in the northern hemisphere are enjoying this colourful season too! Let me know how you are celebrating this Celtic season, which we call Alban Elfed. You can learn more about the Festival here – https://druidry.org/druid-way/teaching-and-practice/druid-festivals/autumn-equinox-alban-elfed And if you live in the southern hemisphere, I hope you’re enjoying the bloom of Spring!

A quick shout out for a couple of public gigs this month – a joint gig with the fabulous mother and daughter duo DnA in the Elysium, Swansea on the 9th and a local gig supporting another wonderful folk duo Eve Goodman and SERA at Clwb y Bont on the 19th. If you live locally, it would be great to see you at one of those gigs! And if you do, please come up and say hi afterwards, I always love to see you and have a chat after the show!

I’ve been busy planning – with my trustee team, Meg and Richard, forthcoming public gigs and projects. I will also be busy introducing the Welsh harp to Primary schools in Merthyr Tydfil for Merthyr Services. These are always so much fun and I love working with the children and teaching them simple tunes on my small harps!

Mid-October I’m working with the actor/writer Rhys Miles Thomas on his Arts Council project ‘Y Gadair’ (The Chair) at YMa, Pontypridd. I’m excited to be composing/performing and clog dancing for this project. I am applying for the next part of my own Arts Council Project too over the next few months.

I look forward to regularly catching up with you here. I love to hear from you. Let me know how you are and what you’ve been up too!

Blessings/Bendithion.

Bethan x
